Phyllobates

Terribilis

The Phyllobates Terribilis is one of my all-time favorite frogs! Not only are they bold, colorful, and vocal, but they are also known to be the most toxic frog on the planet! The Terribilis do well in groups of two to six. Until recently my male Terribilis had his choice of five females, but unfortunately they loved his calling (and the subsequent breeding) far too much and the poor guy was simply worn out! Therefore the extra females were sent off to live with other dedicated froggers, leaving the two remaining females to continue breeding (which they manage to do quite often, even still). I keep my current group in a fifty-five gallon tank with both a stream and a pond. I keep the temperature in the mid to lower seventies and the male performs his fairly loud (but pleasant) call throughout the entire day.
