Dendrobates Amazonicus are some of the most colorful and beautiful frogs that I've ever seen, and therefore it is only natural that I chose this specific frog to represent my CD and website. The male Amazonicus will call with a soft buzz (very hard to hear unless you are near the tank) in an attempt to lure a willing female... generally this call is performed from the lip of a film container or nearby leaf. Currently I am working with both the orange and red morphs of Dendrobates Amazonicus, which I am keeping in separate groups of five frogs each. I keep the temperature in the mid to lower seventies, and have been lucky enough to witness group breeding and pair breeding on many occasions. These bold little frogs took my breath away when I first saw them four years ago... obviously I still enjoy them today.
